I do not usually give one-star ratings. I am annoyed by this keyboard. After I received this keyboard, I could not get the keyboard to work with Synapse. Some lights would not light up on the keyboard, and the lighting profile I customized was automatically wiped out and set to default every time I restart the computer. Tried to troubleshoot with Razer techs and they could not solve the problem (Their online customer service website sucks. The workers are hospitable but their chat window crashes all the time.

I talked to about 8 of their workers and finally find out I can't make this keyboard work). The keycaps are really finger print collectors. I washed my hands with soap carefully and first touch still left a lot of finger prints on the keycaps. Tarrasch variation.

I used a few models of mechanical keyboard and I think this is the worst one I had with this problem (the models include Corsair Strafe, Logitech G610, and Filco Ninja). The only thing I like is that the click sound is pretty fun to listen to, very mechanical. If you can get your Synapse to work with the keyboard then you might not have this problem I had. The Keyboard is awesome, made of aluminum, full RGB lighting, the switches are in my opinion the best for gaming since the actuation point is closer than cherry MX counterparts excepy maybe their speed switches which dont sound good in my opiniton, these sound close to the MX blue but sound much more satisfying just search on youtube Razer greens vs mx blue and youll know what i mean. I bought razers compact wrist rest and it fits this keyboard perfectly and is very comfortable.

The cable is braided and has several channels u can route the cable through, a really nice touch by razer. The keys are raised off the aluminum casing rather than being embedded into a little bed which makes it much easier to clean and a lot more appealing to the eye. And the exclusion of the NUM pad is a huge plus for me but if you want it theres the blackwidow x which has it but i prefer the tenkeyless lay out, and the aluminum body just makes this keyboard feel so so premium its absolutely amazing!

This keyboard was a far removal from previous Razer models. The exposed keys and metal base are completely new to the Razer design philosophy and surely a response to what Corsair has been coming out with. I am a fan of the bare metal base but I am not a fan of the features that were lost. The three features this keyboard lost were the vibrancy of its rgb lighting, the detachable cable, and the carrying case. In the non-X edition, the keys are placed against a white background that vibrantly reflects the rgb lighting.

This keyboard has a gloss black base that does not reflect as well. I felt Razer could have done with a brighter led to combat this. The keyboard also did not have a detachable cable like the non-X version. It instead had three notches for an attached cable to run through. The non-X version also had a very nice soft shell carrying case included that this version did not. I travel a lot and found the carrying case extremely useful on the non-X version.

The keys have some wobble to them that cherry keyboards do not usually have. In actual use, the wobble does not occur or at the very least affect my use, but gripping and twisting the keys will indicate how delicately these keys are placed on the keyboard. I can only speak on behalf of a single user, but I have never had an issue with a Razer switch failing and this is my third keyboard from them. I ultimately replaced this keyboard because I was not a fan of the clicks switches.

This comes down to personal taste, but they are VERY loud and I have other people in the house that I do not want to wake up in my early morning work. If the keys were silent, I'd have kept the keyboard despite its shortcomings. I ultimately replaced it with a non-X stealth edition, a version the Blackwidow X does not offer. I used a Logitech G15 keyboard for almost 10 years. I bought it shortly after it first came out. So 10 years later, I decided it's time to try a new keyboard. I've read over the past couple years how mechanical keyboards are all the rage now.

So I was excited to try one out. This keyboard is like writing on butter. The mechanical 'clicks' appropriately annoy everyone else in the household.

However, pressing down on each key only requires a minimal amount of pressure. Admittedly, after using the same keyboard for 10 years, it took a significant amount of umpth to press down some of the keys (wasd). This one the buttons click appropriately, it really registers when you press down a key, but not in some awkward fashion.
